Next Stop-----ASSAM

Brahmaputra by SPOT SatelliteImage via Wikipedia

So well my time in Shillong never was quite lingering.........I was small enough....How so ever now when I try and think of it ,,,,it seems funny.....
This time I realized my Dad was transferred again.....He had to port himself to a new place called Dhubri. Its the smallest District town in the south of Assam. A place groped by the Huge torment of water called the Brahmaputra..
A small town with both the Hindus and Muslims....living together, working together...There was not even an inch of rivalry or insurgency.....
.No terror or fright..I studied in a school named S.P English medium high School..
Whilst Bengali spoken to the largest ratio the place was on the banks of River Brahmaputra.A pure divine sight. The river is huge around this place and specially when it flows around the area of Coochbehar and  Kokrajhar. The local Dolphins names SOO were often seen crossing the brim hurdle of the river as if they wanted a glimpse of the other world except the water.
How ever we were not precisely in DHUBRI. Dad was stationed at a place called Suparighat, a small village and a cant 31 kms from Dhubri. It was a heaven..Mostly sufficed with trees of Leechi and Jack fruit it had moer trees around rather than people.

A wonderful years where I spent my puberty...........A rustic place with no modern world melo-drama .Although the face of that place is completely a different story today. Insurgency has laid its full shadow on the land....Its sad but the most important truth associated with that land today........
